a) at a single bidirectional origin.
A single bidirectional replication will have to replication fork and thus the rate of replication will be 100 bp/sec. Therefore time required to replicate the entire genome (1 X 108) will be 1 X 108/ 100 = 1 X 106 sec.
b) at 500 bidirectional origins.
500 bidirectional origin means 1000 replication fork and thus the rate of replication will be 50 X 1000 bp/ sec. Thus, the time required to replicate entile genome will be 1 X 108/ 5000 = 2 X 104 sec.
